Popped into IGA hoping to pick up enough Jamsetta (pectin) to fulfil an order for cherry jam- all 12kilos of it.
No luck. Not there. Again. So, at the checkout I ask: How do I go about getting a product put on the shelf again. I need Jamsetta and it hasn’t been on the shelf for the past few weeks. Young checkout lass: Jamsetta??? Me: Yes! It’s usually near the sugar, but some places have it near the jams. I’ve looked but it’s not in either place. Lass: Jamsetta… I’ll get someone to help. Young lad comes to my aid. Lass: This lady is looking for Jamsetta! Lad: Jamsetta??? Me: Yes! It’s usually near the sugar, but some places have it near the jams. I’ve looked but it’s not there. Lad: I’ll go and look. Me: Noooo! I’ve looked! I’ve had a grown-up look! I just want you to find out when it will be back on the shelf! Lad leaves and I can see him looking on the shelves I’ve just checked! He then returns to report that no there’s no Jamsetta there! I leave wondering at what point I failed make my need clear and more concerning is this the pattern of things as I get older???? |
